Bradley heeft op West End al in diverse bekende musicals gespeeld zoals Wicked, My Fair Lady en Les Misérables. How excited are you to play Javert in Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular World Tour?
Bradley: I can’t wait. It is one of the greatest honours as an actor to be part of Les Misérables!
What makes this particular one so spectacular?
Bradley: It’s on a scale that no one has ever seen before. We are bringing a company of over 100 people every venue. Besides that, I think there’s some surprises in store that I don’t think people have ever seen before in Les Misérables. And you also get to see some of their finest alumni and new fresh talent to tell this story across the world.
"I don't see Javert as the bad guy, as everyone usually does see him."
How would you describe your personal interpretation of Javert?
Bradley: I think I can only tell the truth of how I see him and how I’ve read the book and how it makes me feel. I don’t see Javert as the bad guy, as everyone usually does see him. I see him as someone who is driven and focused and works hard at his job.
How do you show that he’s not only the bad guy?
Bradley: Well I think that changes every night with every actor that I’ve got to work with. But being driven and being headstrong, like the book says he’s a bit of a wolf throughout the pack. And I think hopefully I can just tell the story as best as I can. And perceptions can be changed throughout difference audience members. You can always think that it’s going one way and then you can get booed at the end. I always took it very personally when I first noticed that they were booing me because I was like; he was never a bad guy. But people see things and they can’t unsee things. However, my main objective is to allow the audience to escape and as long as they’re clapping and we’ve made them feel something by the end of the show, then we’ve done our job.
"Every character in Les Mis is such a huge part of the puzzle"
You have also played the role of Enjolras. How is it to portray these two kind of different characters and did you also found some similarities between those two?
Bradley: Yeah, I mean every character in Les Miserables is such an incredible role and is such a huge part of the puzzle. You know Les Misérables isn’t just about the antagonist and the protagonist; Jean Valjean and Javert. You could follow the role of Fantine, you could follow the role of Enjolras. Each of them has a huge part in this jigsaw puzzle which is Les Mis.
Enjolras has very much different things and Javert is very solitary. He spends a lot of the time – even backstage – on his own because everyone else is on stage. While Enjolras he has to conduct and get everyone else involved and needs to lead a revolution. So, different parts of the spectrum but equally both for us thrilling as an actor to play.

Bradley: I would say your mad and you’re crazy not to bought a ticket so far haha. But I think, even if you are not a lover of musicals you can completely escape with the lighting design, with the set design, with the costumes, with the orchestrations: There is something for everyone! But what we will bring is a story that told like no one else is told a musical before. I think on such a scale as the Ziggo Dome it is gonna be a show that you can’t miss!
